Our Family Traditions

First of all, the Kiddush of Rosh Hashana must be sweet. For that purpose, instead of wine we used fresh sweet grapes (pressed of course), and we use sugar instead of salt for Motzi.
The Chalot are sweeter than usual too, and sprinkled with sesame seeds.

Also, we have recipes specific of that Holiday, that we look forward to year after year.
Appetizers must include fried Rosh Hashana fish, at least on the first night.
Spinach Cholent is also a must have, but nobody complains, even kids, because it is simply delicious.

Now is time for dessert, and since the coming new year must be sweet, we must have a lot of pastries . We love the apple Strudel recipe of my sister Nathalie, but really any kind of pastry is fine, as long as it is sweet..
