Cheesecream Tart
Cheesecake is very rarely prepared in France, even for Shavuot.
Instead, French Jews have a variety of dairy tarts and pies to choose from.
This recipe is the closest I know from the cheesecake. It's delicious, easy to prepare, and a nice change from the traditional cheesecake...
SERVES 6
1 frozen puff pastry sheet, thawed
8 oz (230 g) cream cheese
2 lemons
¾ cup (150g) sugar
5 eggs
½ cup (75 g) walnut
1 Tbsp sour cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Roll puff pastry sheet on a floured working space until it can fit a 10 tart pan.
Mix together in a medium bowl cream cheese, sour cream eggs, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla.
Place walnut pieces on pastry sheet, and cover with mixture.
Bake at 360F degrees (175 C) for 20 minutes.
